Yards before contact belong to the O-line. Yards after contact belong to the back.

A back averaging 5.2 a carry with only 1.4 after contact is riding his blocking; when the front slips, so does he. Broken tackle counts swing hard year to year and should be read as noisy; yards after contact is the stable signal.

Plain reading. Honest limits.

The model keeps what a player creates apart from his team environment, says so when a sample is thin, and keeps its record in the open.
